Writer/Director Robert Eggers delivered one of my favorite films of Sundance last year. THE WITCH is boldly terrifying at moments and incredibly moody throughout. This film really got under my skin in the best possible way. Not for the faint of heart. Eggers has crafted a rather impressive script by using authentic New England dialects. Even in the trailer, we could use some subtitles. Rest assured though, the direction in this picture is so stellar, the terrifying events would make sense even if THE WITCH were a silent film.

THE WITCH was acquired by A24 Films and will be released in theaters on February 19th, 2016.
