A while back, Warner Brothers dropped a fantastic redband trailer for the upcoming 70s noir comedy, THE NICE GUYS. Now, they’ve delivered a brand spankin’ new trailer and it’s every bit as hilarious as the first.
THE NICE GUYS comes to us courtesy of the great Shane Black. In the late 80’s and early 90’s Black was responsible for penning landmark actioneers like LETHAL WEAPON and THE LAST BOY SCOUT. In the 2000’s, he would go on to write and direct the outstanding KISS KISS, BANG BANG. Eventually, Marvel would hire him to helm the blockbuster, IRON MAN 3. With THE NICE GUYS, it appears that Black is venturing back into KISS KISS, BANG BANG territory. In addition to what looks to be spot on chemistry between Crowe and Gosling, this flick has a vibe that recalls both PAYBACK and INHERENT VICE. In short, it looks fantastic!
Synopsis:
“The Nice Guys” takes place in 1970s Los Angeles, when down-on-his-luck private eye Holland March (Gosling) and hired enforcer Jackson Healy (Crowe) must work together to solve the case of a missing girl and the seemingly unrelated death of a porn star. During their investigation, they uncover a shocking conspiracy that reaches up to the highest circles of power.
