INDEPENDENCE DAY: RESURGENCE

Oh my holy awesome, Batman! There is another Independence Day movie coming out! Okay, this isn’t new news, we’ve known for months that Goldblum was making a return as David Levinson, the ex-scientist turned cable technician. But how cool is it that as of YESTERDAY, there is a new trailer to get us pumped for this return of one of the best/coolest/awesomest movies of the mid-nineties?
Roland Emmerich returns to deliver to us a part two to “must go faster,” “now that’s what I call a close encounter,” and my personal favorite “welcome to Earth.” Set twenty years in the future from the first event, Independence Day: Resurgence looks to have a darker (maybe even a tad more realistic) feel about it. With most of the cast (Jeff Goldblum, Bill Pullman, Vivica A. Fox, and even Judd Hirsch who played Goldblum’s father) returning to reprise their roles. From the trailer, this movie looks….well, Independence Day awesome! I mean, the first movie (along with Men in Black) is what started my flush love of Will Smith. Not to sound like a hipster, but I loved Will before Smith went Wild Wild West. It’s only too bad that the Prince won’t grace this film with his freshness. But not to worry, at least we still have the “Blum,” and he’s worth his weight in…too cheesy? Maybe, but who cares? Gold.

Pull up a seat and explore the film that I hope to be just as good as the first (not better than—there’s no Smith.) Honestly, who doesn’t love Independence Day? Yeah, the movie is good too.
