THE DIRECTOR OF “YOU’RE NEXT” AND “THE GUEST” IS BRINGING HIS LATEST BUZZED ABOUT WORK OF HORROR TO COMIC-CON!

With the official 2016 Comic-Con line-up announcement only days away, it’s anyone’s guess as to what studios and films might be represented in the Con’s legendary Hall H. Lionsgate will certainly have a presence at the convention this year but there’s no telling what they might be bringing. We’re holding out hope for an early look at JOHN WICK: CHAPTER TWO and POWER RANGERS.
One thing we know for sure is that Lionsgate will be bringing an advance screening of THE WOODS, the latest buzzed about horror collaboration between YOU’RE NEXT and THE GUEST creators, Adam Wingard and Simon Barrett. Very little is known about the plot. Even the effective teaser trailer that’s been making the rounds gives very little away. We know that the film is about a group of twenty-somethings who discover they’re not alone while on a trip in the woods, and we also know that Bloody Disgusting’s Brad Miska has fallen head over heels with the picture as is evident by his glowing endorsement of the movie in the teaser trailer. Beyond that though, info regarding this picture is scarce. And guess what? That’s just the way we like it!
In a cinematic landscape where movies are often spoiled by overly revealing trailers, this clip from THE WOODS is quite the refreshing change of pace. And good news for those of you attending San Diego Comic-Con. You’ll have an opportunity to see THE WOODS almost 2 months early!
Specific details regarding this special screening of THE WOODS have yet to be announced. It will take place on Friday, July 22nd at 7 PM, but beyond that, that’s all we know at this point. The mystery surrounding this advance screening is about as mysterious as the film itself.
One thing is certain; If THE WOODS is half as scary as it looks, then Wingard, Barrett, and the fine folks at Lionsgate will have horror gem on their hands!
