Above the Knee (2023) Still Image

ABOVE THE KNEE

(Norway) – FEATURE FILM

The Norwegian team behind the indie horror hits “Good Boy” and “To Freddy” are currently seeking funding on Indiegogo for their upcoming feature-length thriller, “Above the Knee.” The film follows Amir, who, when we meet him, spends his days in a wheelchair. The hook; There’s no real injury to speak of. Amir simply wants to sit in this wheelchair and rid himself of his left leg.  More specifically, 5 centimeters above the knee. The problem is that no one else knows of his plight but it’s perfectly clear that Amir knows it’s only a matter of time before he has to get rid of his leg.”

This will be Writer/Director and Producer Karl Oskar Åsli‘s 4th feature-length film together. These filmmakers have a knack for creating quality, straightforward, and engaging movies that leave a lasting impression on viewers. While their new premise suggests an unsettling quiet drama exploring the psychology behind such an extreme decision, we can expect there’s always more than meets the eye. “Beyond the Knee” is unquestionably a project worth backing on Indiegogo particularly given that the dedicated team behind it has a track record of producing thought-provoking and fascinating movies. Don’t miss the chance to be involved in this exciting and provocative slice of independent cinema.
