FATHOM EVENTS CONTINUES  TO BRING THE BEST IN ALTERNATIVE PROGRAMMING TO THEATERS!

I’ve said it a million times and I’ll say it again: Nothing beats the theatrical experience. Sure, home theaters are more luxurious and high tech than ever, but there’s still something extra special about sitting in a huge dark room with 100s of fellow movie goers and having that almighty communal experience.

Fathom Events is leading the charge in alternative programming by way of bringing  smaller movies, concerts, sporting events, Broadway, and other special presentations to your local multiplexes.

October 20th will see an encore screening of Rob Zombie‘s clown inspired horror film, 31, and cooler still, Fathom prides itself on treating audiences to classic movies of the past. Here are two noteworthy titles you’ll have an opportunity to see on the big screen in October:

TAXI DRIVER (R)

OCTOBER 16TH & 19TH AT 2 PM & 7 PM

Martin Scorsese’s  brilliantly crafted TAXI DRIVER stars a mesmerizing Robert DeNiro as war veteran/cab driver Travis Bickle. Agitated by the decaying of his city, Bickle wages war against the scum of the earth in this gritty, hypnotic, and undeniably compelling Paul Schrader-penned masterwork. The film features outstanding early career performances from the likes of Cybill Shepherd, Albert Brookes, and a very young Jodie Foster.

This special 40th anniversary presentation will include a recorded Q & A with Scorsese, DeNiro, and Foster from the 2016 Tribeca Film Festival.

THE SHINING (R)

OCTOBER 23RD & 26TH AT 2 PM AND 7 PM

Yes, Stanley Kubrick may have taken Stephen King’s bestselling novel and made it’s own, but that’s irrelevant. The fact is, this is a seminal horror film and it demands to be seen on the big screen. If not for Jack Nicholson’s bigger-than-life performance than for Kubrick’s unforgettable direction and the sheer brilliance of the Overlook Hotel. The Overlook isn’t merely the primary location in this picture: It’s a character in the piece!  If you’re a hardcore movie fan and have yet to see THE SHINING, you positively need to attend one of these screenings! If you have seen it, see again the way it was meant to be seen!

Fathom Events has plenty of other surprises coming your way in the coming days and months including screenings of YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN, FROM DUSK TILL DAWN, BREAKFAST AT TIFFANY’S, RUSH: TIME STAND STILL, and a whole lot more!
